Diflunisal (Molecule of the Month for January 2006)

Diflunisal is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and to reduce the pain and inflammation (swelling) caused by arthritis or other inflammatory conditions. Diflunisal is a non steroidal anti inflammatory Drug ( NSAID ). Diflunisal acts by inhibiting the production of prostaglandin, a hormone that creates inflammation and stimulates the neuro receptors for pain.
